Gallery CU@UDDENBERG opened in 2024 when Charlotta Heurlin and Uncas Rydén took over Galleri Uddenberg. Roy Uddenberg was a legendary gallerist who opened his first gallery in 1974. For five decades he remained a central figure in the Gothenburg art world. The name commits to tradition, but also to the curiosity and visionary outlook that characterized Roy Uddenberg.
CU@UDDENBERG is part of Creativity Unlimited (CU), an organization founded in 2012 to promote and initiate encounters between art and technology. Today, CU is a platform focusing on contemporary art, innovation and technological development. Our vision is to provide a basis for conversation, discussion and understanding of the society we live in, and of the great challenges that characterize our time. CU is run by Charlotta, Uncas and artist Danette Quartey.
CU@UDDENBERG is the physical incarnation of Creativity Unlimited – a living art gallery with an eye to the future, highlighting new and emerging artists, but also giving space to traditional art forms and established artists. We mainly exhibit painting, printmaking, textile art and sculpture, but there is also space for installation art, performance and video art, as well as other art forms such as music and literature. Creativity Unlimited has links to France, which will become increasingly apparent at CU@UDDENBERG in the future.
