About

CU GALLERY opened in 2024 when Charlotta Heurlin and Uncas Rydén took over Galleri Uddenberg. Roy Uddenberg was a legendary gallerist who opened his first gallery in 1974. For five decades, he remained a central figure in Gothenburg’s art world. The name carries with it a commitment to tradition, but also to the curiosity and visionary perspective that characterized Roy Uddenberg.

CU GALLERY is part of Creativity Unlimited (CU), an organization founded in 2012 to promote and facilitate encounters between art and technology. Today, CU is a platform focused on contemporary art, innovation, and technological development. Our vision is to serve as a foundation for conversation, discussion, and understanding of the society we live in, and of the major challenges that define our time. CU is run by Charlotta, Uncas, and artist Danette Quartey.

CU GALLERY is the physical embodiment of Creativity Unlimited—a vibrant art gallery with an eye toward the future that showcases emerging artists and evolving artistic practices, while also providing a space for traditional art forms and established artists. We primarily exhibit painting, printmaking, textile art, and sculpture, but there is also room here for installation art, performance art, and video art, as well as other art forms such as music and literature. Creativity Unlimited has ties to France, something that will become increasingly evident at CU GALLERY in the future.
