Lena Björn My inner rooms
October 18 – November 8, 2025
Vernissage Saturday October 18 at 12-16
“My work is based on what touches me deeply.
Themes such as vulnerability, pain and people’s lives have followed
me throughout my artistic career.
Art is my way of understanding and processing the world.
In My Inner Rooms, I continue to work with the theme of women’s right
to their own bodies.
Abuse of girls and women is happening all around us.
Violence takes many forms: psychological and physical, in close relationships,
as part of everyday life, or as a weapon of war.
It is brutal, bestial – and sometimes unbearable to take in.
For me, nature acts as a mirror for our inner states.
In it I find strength and a longing for something that can heal,
in the midst of a world that often feels dark and unforgiving.
The wooden sculptures also carry stories. A cracked piece of wood,
the grain in the wood or signs of decay – all these reflect
something human. We all carry our cracks and scars, in our bodies and in our souls.“

The smallness of man
growth
time
in the destructive
perishability
decay
nature takes over
the power from which healing comes
then man is just a blink
lost souls
worn
striving forward
survival
we think we are making progress
in the rear view mirror we see ruins
sadness
and grief
